This CD of music has been a labor of love for Whitney Marchelle Jackson. “Inch by inch” she worked to put together this set of music  and arrangements that have turned out to be nothing but “stunning”

She is a vocalist, performer, composer, and educator.  Her styles encompass most aspects of the American Jazz form molded from her many years of journeyman work. These styles include bebop, contemporary, traditional, funk, R&B and folk.

Besides singing Whitney plays piano/guitar and is a prolific arranger. Her venue performances in the New York area  include the US Open for the Polo Association, The Apollo, The United Nations, Carnegie Hall, The Blue Note, The Mist, Abyssinian Jazz Vespers, Minton's Playhouse, BET, The Zinc Bar, The Cotton Club, Jazz Foundation Events, The Harlem Walk and The Jazzmobile 50th 2014. She continues to perform internationally and in the US but her long time foundation, New York City is still her heart and soul.

Whitney has performed and/or shared bills with:  Herbie Hancock, Dee Dee Bridgewater, Clark Terry, Wycliffe Gordon, Eric Lewis, Quincy Jones, Tom Browne, Jonathan Batiste, Frank Lacy, Bill Withers, Fathead Newman, Donny Hathaway, Sugar Hill Quartet, Tia Fuller, Abbyssian, Harlem Gospel Choir,  Sylvia Cuenca , Don Freidman, Marcus Mclorin,  Mustafa Big band , and the Drake University Big Band. She even opened for Kiss!

Notable commercials include: Spike Lee's -State Farm Insurance and Mr. Gadget.  Notable recent studio sessions: Billboard Awards, Quincy Jones, Steve Turre, Ray Charles, and Jeremy Pelt. Festivals recently performed at: Rochester Jazz Xerox , Art Deco South Beach, Jazz In July, Atlanta Jazz, African Arts, Sentosa Balloon, Lady's Got Chops, Black Arts, Abbey Lincoln Tribute.  Whitney has also performed for 5 US presidents.
